Sachin Tendulkar Not To Participate In The Second Edition Of The Road Safety World Series

Legendary Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar will not be participating in the second edition of the Road Safety World Series Tournament.

The Road Safety World Series Tournament which involves former cricketers has run into rough weather with several players complaining of unpaid dues from the first edition of the tournament.

Sachin Tendulkar was part of the first season of the tournament and he played for tournament winners India Legends. However, he hasn’t received the entire payment for the first season and he has decided to dissociate himself from the project.

If reports are to be believed, former Bangladesh players including Khaled Mahmud ‘Sujon’, Khaled Mashud ‘Pilot’, Mehrab Hossain, Rajin Saleh, Hannan Sarkar, and Nafees Iqbal haven’t been paid any money by the organisers of the tournament.

The source told PTI that Tendulkar, who was also the ‘Brand Ambassador’ of the tournament, will not be a part of the second season of the tournament in any form.

“Sachin will not be a part of RSWS this season. The tournament is marked from March 1-19 in the UAE but Sachin will not be a part of this tournament in any form,” a source close to developments told PTI on conditions of anonymity.

The sources confirmed that Tendulkar is among several other cricketers who haven’t received their payments.

Meanwhile, the premier organizer of the tournament Ravi Gaikwad was contacted for this matter but he did not respond.

The Road Safety World Series Tournament took place in 2020, and players were set to get 10 per cent upon signing, another 40 per cent was supposed to be paid by February 25, 2021, and the remaining 50 per cent by March 31, 2021. Several players had signed under the aegis of a company called Majestic Legends Pvt Ltd and PMG and the teams and players were managed by a company called Second Innings Sports and Entertainment.
