KL Rahul might be having a torrid time as the captain in IPL 2020; however, he has not failed to make his bat talk. With 239 runs in four matches, KL Rahul is the second-highest run-getter in the tournament and seven runs adrift of his opening partner Mayank Agarwal. That has provoked former Indian batting coach Sanjay Bangar to label him as India’s 360-degree batsman.

KL Rahul has a century and fifty in four matches in the current edition of IPL as the failures have come against Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians. The term 360-degree is often associated with AB De Villiers, owing to his expertise to clear all parts of the ground via his innovative shot making. With the 28-year old possessing a wide range of shots as well, he could become the same moving forward.

Sanjay Bangar is particularly impressed by the 28-year old’s growth as a player and the self-belief that he could win matches single-handedly. As far as Kings XI Punjab’s fortunes go, they lost two out of their three matches so far. KL Rahul’s captaincy came under intense scrutiny against Mumbai Indians for handing the 20th over of their innings to off-spinner Krishnappa Gowtham as it went for 25 runs.

Everyone calls AB de Villiers Mr 360, I’d like to say KL Rahul is India’s 360. He’s grown as a cricketer. He now believes he can win matches and he has done that He has single-handedly taken KXIP to match-winning positions this year,” Sanjay Bangar told Star Sports.

KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal are in a neck to neck battle for the Orange cap as they both are in a scintillating form. The skipper does not mind as long as it stays with KXIP and vowed to take it from Mayank, who is its current holder.

Until and unless that orange cap stays with Kings XI I’m happy. He’s (Agarwal) worked very hard and deserves that cap. I’m sure I’ll take it off him soon,” Rahul said as quoted by Hindustan Times.
