The third and final Test between England and South Africa started on September 8 at the Oval in London. The series is poised at 1-1 after the hosts won the second Test in Manchester and are set for a tight finish. South Africa won the first Test at Lord’s after which the hosts made a grand comeback in the second Test to level the series ahead of the decider.

Meanwhile, the first day’s play was abandoned after the unfortunate demise of Queen Elizabeth II. She passed away ageing 96 after ruling the British Monarch for 70 years. The ECB gave a statement on the demise of the queen saying that they will update about the progression of the Test match in due course.
