IND vs SA: He Was Just Outstanding – Graeme Smith Hails Bhuvneshwar Kumar For His Performance In 2nd T20I

Former South Africa National Cricket Team captain Graeme Smith showered praise on veteran India National Cricket Team pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar for his performance in the second T20I against South Africa.

The second T20 International match of the five-match T20 International series between India and South Africa was played at the Barabati Stadium, Cuttack on Sunday, June 12.

Batting first India scored 148 runs and while defending the total, Bhuvneshwar Kumar dismissed Reeza Hendricks, Dwaine Pretorius and Rassie van der Dussen for low scores inside powerplay overs.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar also picked the wicket of Wayne Parnell at the backend of the innings and he finished with 4 wickets under his belt and he gave away just 13 runs in his 4-over quota.

Speaking after the second T20I, former South Africa captain said that Bhuvneshwar looked outstanding in the match. He also lauded the Indian pacer for his control in the bowling as well as his execution.

“He was just outstanding. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was good thinking…and skill-level as well. When Reeza Hendricks was on strike, he knew he struggles against the inswinger. He got one right and knocked him over. 

“Dwaine Pretorius walked in next and he decide to take him on, but is knocked out with the knuckleball. Just brilliant control and execution,” said former South Africa captain Graeme Smith on Star Sports after the match. 

Meanwhile, South Africa won the match by 4 wickets after Heinrich Klaasen’s batting masterclass and now they have a 2-0 lead in the series. Also, India’s defeat against South Africa in Cuttack was their 7th consecutive defeat against South Africa across formats.
