IND vs SA: Lot To Learn From Rahul Dravid Like Discipline And Game Tactics - Rishabh Pant

The stand-in captain for India’s 5-match T20I series against South Africa, Rishabh Pant, said that he’s looking forward to learning from the head coach, Rahul Dravid, with respect to strategies and game tactics.
Pant was made the skipper of the team on the eve of the series after KL Rahul was ruled out due to a right groin injury. It is his first stint as the captain of the national team, having led the Delhi Capitals in the last two seasons of the IPL.
“It is one of the best things to have him around. I worked with him in the U-19 days and then I have also worked with him in the Indian team. There is a lot of experience with him, he is already a legendary cricketer.”

“I don’t have to introduce him to anyone. There are a lot of learnings from him, like discipline and how to conduct myself on and off the field, learning the game tactics. There is just a lot to learn from him,” Pant said at the pre-match press conference.
“He has won an IPL and it is a big thing” – Rishabh Pant on Hardik Pandya
Pant will be leading for the first time in his hometown of New Delhi and the 24-year-old youngster will be hoping to get a good result to get things running.
“It is a great feeling, especially getting an opportunity to lead in your hometown. I will try to make the most of it. I think as a captain, it will help me a lot because when you are doing the same thing again and again, you improve.”

Notably, Hardik Pandya comes into the series on the back of an exquisite campaign for Gujarat Titans where he performed well with bat and ball and also led the team in a commanding fashion.
“I am someone who keeps learning from his mistakes and I think it will help me in the coming days. He has won an IPL and it is a big thing. I will try to learn from him as much as I can,” Pant added.
