India National Cricket Team medium-pacer Deepak Chahar abused fielder Mohammed Siraj after the latter touched the boundary rope after taking the catch of explosive South Africa National Cricket Team batter David Miller during the third and final T20I of the three-match T20I series at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore on Tuesday, October 4.

The incident took place during the final over of the South Africa innings when Deepak Chahar came to bowl the 4th over of his spell.

On the first ball of Deepak Chahar’s final over of the match, Rilee Rossouw completed his century with a single. On the next ball, the Indian pacer cleaned up young batter Tristan Stubbs and the third delivery of the over to David Miller was a dot ball. Then, Deepak Chahar bowled a no-ball and got smashed for three consecutive sixes by Miller on the next three deliveries.

Notably, on the 5th delivery of the over, Chahar bowled a 123kmph length ball to Miller and the Proteas batter heaved it off the strong bottom hand. Fielder Mohammed Siraj grabbed the catch at the deep square leg, but there was an error in judgement from the fielder as he backpedalled and stepped onto the advertising cushions with the ball in his hand.

Pacer Deepak Chahar was extremely upset after the ball went for a six due to Siraj’s error in judgement and he abused the fielder. The moment was captured and the video of the incident has gone viral on social media.

Earlier, India National Cricket Team won the toss and elected to bowl first in the match. The Men In Blue made three changes to the playing XI as KL Rahul and Virat Kohli were rested and Arshdeep Singh was out with a back injury. Shreyas Iyer, Umesh Yadav and Mohammed Siraj were included in the playing XI.

On the other hand, the Proteas made just one change to the team as Dwaine Pretorius replaced Anrich Nortje. Batting first, South Africa posted 227/3 on the board with the help of Rilee Rossouw’s ton, Quinton de Kock’s half-century and David Miller and Tristan Stubbs’ good contributions.
