IND vs SA: Watch - Quinton de Kock Gets Run Out At A Crucial Time
Updated - 04 Oct 2022, 10:48 PM
The South African Cricket team got off to a rollicking start. The visitors were asked to bat first by the Men in Blue. South Africa made one change to their playing 11 as they roped in Dwaine Pretorius in place of the express pace bowler Anrich Nortje. India on the other side made three changes: Umesh Yadav, Shreyas Iyer, and Mohammed Siraj came in place of Arshdeep Singh, KL Rahul & Virat Kohli.
Quinton de Kock was looking in sublime touch. The left-handed batter had a fire in his eyes as he wanted to prove a point that he is not done yet. He scored 68 runs in 43 balls which included 6 fours and 4 sixes. The management would be mightily pleased after seeing his performance as he is someone who can take down any opposition on a given day.
Shreyas Iyer Run outs Quinton de Kock
South African Cricket team was looking threatening as at the end of 12 overs the score was 119-1. Quinton took a risk of taking 2 runs at the deep mid-wicket where Shreyas Iyer made sure that the batter doesn’t stay too long. Quinton got run out by a brilliant throw and a good wicket-keeping by Rishabh Pant. Quinton’s wicket can turn things around as the batter could have added another 20-25 runs which could have been handy.
Critical Phase for India
There’s nothing significant in the pitch for the bowlers. India would be hoping that they are not chasing a target of around 210-220 runs; KL Rahul & Virat Kohli are rested and in their absence, it would be a bit difficult to chase down that target. We should not forget that Umesh Yadav is not a newbie as he has been around the team for quite some time now.
South Africa would be hoping that Rilee Rossouw gets a big one as he has got settled. The left-handed batter has got that hitting prowess and if he gets a score of around 80-100 runs then India would be in serious problem. Any target above 220 runs would mean that South Africa is in the driver’s seat.
