Rohit Sharma has changed the fortunes of the Indian team since he took over India’s white-ball captain following India’s T20 World Cup debacle. After being announced as the T20I skipper, Rohit was subsequently announced As India’s next test skipper as well.

Under Rohit Sharma, this Indian team is playing some brilliant cricket and achieving new heights in the process. The second T20I win in Dharamsala helped India to complete their seventh straight T20I series win at home.

This was also the third consecutive T20I series win under Rohit Sharma since he became India’s white-ball skipper. The Dharamsala win was also India’s 11th win on the trot in the format.

Rohit Sharma has bagged a few more records to his name as well. Overall, Rohit has 22 wins in 24 matches as T20I captain in his career. Rohit has now led India to 16 wins out of 17 matches at home surpassing England’s Eoin Morgan and New Zealand’s Kane Williamson. It also helped India solidify their top position in the ICC T20I rankings.

Earlier, against West Indies, India achieved its 100th T20I under the leadership of Rohit Sharma. Pakistan leads the list with 118 wins followed by India in the second position. The team is eyeing up another record under Rohit.

Both India and New Zealand currently hold the record for the most number of victories at home (39 wins). One more win would help India get past the Kiwis in an elite record.

Rohit Sharma was a happy captain at the post-match presentation after the second T20I. He spoke about the contribution from the middle-order after he gell cheaply in the second game.

“I think it was pleasing to see for us. The middle-order coming out and performing is good to see those guys taking the responsibility and finishing off games.

“I don’t want to be too harsh on the bowlers. It can happen these days, but we restricted them in the first 15 overs. It was a good pitch to bat on as well. Lot of these guys are talented,” said Rohit in the post-match presentation.
