Sri Lanka’s performance on Day 1 of the ongoing second Test against Team India was comparable to that of a Ranji team, according to Aakash Chopra.

In Regard to the ongoing test between India and Sri Lanka, former Indian batsman Aakash Chopra Said that that the  Sri Lanka played a like a Ranji Team, Their Sides Performance Was Below Par, and Bowling and Batting were in Extremely Bad Condition.

During their first innings on a collapsing field, the Sri Lankan team allowed India to register a slightly above-par score of 252 runs. By the end of Day 1, their batters had been blown away, and the visitors had been reduced to 86/6.

Aakash Chopra was deeply critical of Sri Lanka’s performance in a video that was posted on his YouTube channel after analyzing the first day’s play. He added, ”

“What is the name of the Sri Lankan team? Sri Lanka’s performance has been dismal. Individually, the names are nice, but as a group, they have failed miserably. Sri Lanka is competing at the Ranji Trophy level.

“There are some injuries – Lahiru Kumara, Dushmantha Chameera, and Pathum Nissanka aren’t playing – and the squad is in transition, which is fine, but what is cricket? This Indian team is not a match for them.”

Aakash Chopra believes Sri Lanka’s bowling attack is too inexperienced:

Sri Lankan bowling, according to Aakash Chopra, left a lot of room for improvement. He elaborated:

“The bowling appeared to be in bad shape. This is Suranga Lakmal’s final Test match; he did well with the new ball, but aside from him, Embuldeniya is their greatest bowler; nonetheless, I believe he is somewhat below Test standard. With the number of balls on the legs and full tosses, Jayawickrama was delivering, 4.5 runs per over on this surface isn’t Test level bowling.”

Take a look at their batting order. Although the ball does a little in the air and skids off the pitch under the lights, there was no concentration in the batting. There is no use in having a competition if the quality is poor. Angelo Mathews performed admirably, but his batting was not of the same standard.

At stumps on the first day of the second Test against Sri Lanka, Sri Lanka was 86 for 6 in reply to India’s first-innings total of 252.

All other visiting hitters failed to get going, as Angelo Mathews top-scored for Sri Lanka with an 85-ball 43. At the end of the day, Niroshan Dickwella and Lasith Embuldeniya were batting on 13 and 0, respectively.
