He makes partnerships and also bowls in pressure situations, also comes to bat in pressure. He takes his team out of tough situations and is a huge advantage for the Indian team.” said Kamran Akmal.

“The ones who understand cricket know that Hardik Pandya and Team India are a good combination in T20, ODI cricket. The team looks better and stronger with him. They let him rest also and manage his workload. If there is any big series or event, they use him. He is a good sign for the Indian team.” he added.

Steep Road Ahead for Sri Lanka

The island nation would be aiming to avoid a whitewash as we can expect some changes for the 3rd ODI. Skipper Dasun Shanaka expressed disappointment with the batting unit in the post-match presentation as the batters aren’t able to convert their starts into a big one.

India on the other hand would be aiming to continue the winning run as after the 3rd ODI, New Zealand ODI series is going to commence on 18th January (Wednesday). It would be interesting to see whether Chahal replaces the player of the match Kuldeep Yadav as Chahal didn’t play due to an injury.
