Farveez Maharoof, a former all-rounder for Sri Lanka, has said that Arshdeep Singh must stop bowling no-balls as soon as possible.
He instructed the young Indian left-arm seamer to concentrate during practice sessions on the issue, saying that fast bowlers frequently disregard the front-foot landing during nets.

As a result of the left-arm seamer’s difficulties, Sri Lanka, who were asked to bat first, produced 206/6 in their allotted 20 over. Maharoof provided the following commentary on Arshdeep’s no-ball struggles to ESPNcricinfo:
“I’d like to question, and I may be wrong or right, how effective the practice has been. Most fast bowlers don’t pay much attention to their front foot during practice. If Arshdeep has this harmful habit, he should get rid of it as soon as feasible.”
“Maybe Arshdeep Singh was trying too much”: Farveez Maharoof
Farveez Maharoof allowed the youngster some wiggle room because he hadn’t played an international game in over a month. He stated, ”
“It’s never easy to return to international cricket. The ball was in motion. Maybe he was trying too much. It could happen to anyone. Arshdeep needs to play more competitive cricket if he wants to feel better.”
Arshdeep, who was competing in his first international match since November 30, was utterly uncharacteristic during the second T20I match against Sri Lanka on January 5 in Pune. In his two overs of bowling, he gave up 37 runs. The 23-year-old bowled five no-balls in the game, including three straight ones in his first over.
On Saturday, January 7, the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot will host the third and final Twenty20 International of the series between India and Sri Lanka.
