Indian Cricket Team is all set to lock horns against Sri Lankan Cricket team for a 3 T20I match series. This T20I Series is considered to be the start of a new era for the Men in Blue. It looks like Hardik Pandya is the new skipper of India in T20I format following the T20 WC 2022 exit.

India hasn’t been able to win ICC T20 WC since its inception of IPL in 2007. The new selection panel will have to make sure that they are sticking to a core as earlier in 2022 we had seen a lot of wholesale changes. The Men in Blue would be well aware of the fact that they cannot take Sri Lanka lightly as they are quite unpredictable.

Gautam Gambhir on Hardik Pandya

Gautam Gambhir was having an interaction with Star Sports and was asked about Hardik Pandya. “They need to quickly identify a back-up for Hardik; if something happens to him, India will be in serious, serious trouble.” said Gautam Gambhir.

Critical Series for India

The way Hardik Pandya led India against New Zealand in T20Is, it was quite fascinating to watch as he made sure shrewd decisions. Indian Cricket team doesn’t have the luxury of quality all-rounders present which can hurt them as Hardik Pandya is quite injury prone.

It would be interesting to see how the series pans out as both the teams are evenly matched. All eyes would be on Dasun Shanaka as last time in 2022 against India, he was in great form. The batter should promote himself up the order as he has the knack of playing long & effective innings for the team.
