Openers Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill gave a stupendous start to batting with an opening partnership of 143 runs. While Sharma scored 83, Gill got out for 70. Virat Kohli shattered an amazing knock of 113, smashing his 43rd ODI century.

Later, Sri Lanka tried their best efforts but they were helpless against such a big total. Opener Pathum Nissanka hit 72 runs for the team. Dasun Shanaka later scored unbeaten 108 runs for the team, taking the scoreboard to 306-8 in 50 overs.
