Indian Cricket Team is all set to clash against Sri Lanka for a 3 T20I match series starting from 3rd January (Tuesday). The skipper Rohit Sharma has not been included in the squad as he is yet to recover from a thumb injury. Hardik Pandya has been appointed the skipper after his successful New Zealand T20I series triumph.
BCCI is yet to name a selection panel as the squads for Sri Lanka white ball leg were named by the sacked Chetan Sharma-led selection panel. It is assumed that BCCI may adopt split captaincy & split coaching as a lot of ICC events are scheduled in the next couple of years.

BCCI Source on Rohit Sharma
A BCCI source privy was seen interacting with PTI and was asked about Rohit Sharma. “Rohit is leading India in Tests and ODIs and there was no such discussions about his future as leader in these two formats. Look at his captaincy record in Tests and ODIs and it is more than impressive.” said the BCCI source.
BCCI Source on Chetan Sharma
BCCI source privy was asked about whether Chetan Sharma get once again elected for chairman post. “First things first, if Chetan wouldn’t have been told, he wouldn’t have applied in first place. That itself is an indication. India have a World Cup to play in 10 months. Chetan and Harvinder’s presence will add continuity along with three new members.” said the BCCI source.
The Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) will have to be careful while naming the selection panel as previously there were a lot of captains named which somewhat changed the dynamics for the team. Under the new BCCI president Roger Binny, the billion people would be hoping that the team ends the drought of 10 years as India hasn’t won ICC trophy since 2013.
