Team India has come up with a great gesture presenting Nathan Lyon a signed Jersey for completing 100 tests at the Gabba. This comes as a great honor from the Indian team for congratulating the veteran off-spinner who has been one of the mainstays in the bowling set up for the Australian team. This will also build a good relationship for the future series between India and Australia.

Nathan Lyon Has Been A Consistent Performer For Australia

Nathan Lyon has always been a consistent performer for Australia in tests and he is a spinner who can bowl on any surface. The 33-year-old made his debut in 2011 and has been a great servant for Australian cricket over the years. He has played the perfect foil to Australian team who always prefer to go with 3 fast bowlers, one spinner and an allrounder. Even when the tracks aren’t turning, he has never failed to bowl in the right areas and played his part perfectly most of the time.

Nathan Lyon is only one wicket short of 400 test wickets which is a huge number for an off-spinner from Australia and most of his wickets have been in Australian conditions too. He has improved his batting immensely and has played handy knocks for Australia in the lower order.

Ajinkya Rahane Applauded By Experts For His Gesture

Ajinkya Rahane handed over signed Jersey to Nathan Lyon for playing 100 test matches at the post-match ceremony at Gabba. The Indian cricket team not only won the 4 match Border Gavaskar Series 2-1 but also won the hearts of the people all over the world through this gesture. “Excellent gesture from @ajinkyarahane88 and the Indian team to Felicitate Nathan Lyon on his 100th Test Match. One more example of Sportsman Spirt from Rahane. How dignified he is even after achieving such an incredible win.#Leader #AUSvsIND”: VVS Laxman tweeted.

Ajinkya Rahane was handed a young team and he brought the best out of the team by bringing in great strategies which paid good results. His braveness was inculcated into the young inexperienced Indian team who never feared anything and made history by winning a series in Australia for the second time in a row. Rishabh Pant’s innings in both Sydney and Melbourne was one of the crucial factors in India retaining the trophy.
