Tickets For Blockbuster India-Pakistan T20 World Cup 2022 Clash At MCG Sold Out Within Hours

The fans only get to see the blockbuster India-Pakistan matches during the multi-nation tournaments and the last time the two sides met was in the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 in Dubai and history was made as Pakistan beat India by 10 wickets. Now the two sides will next meet in T20 World Cup 2022 in Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) and tickets for the same sold out without hours.

The T20 World Cup 2021 encounter between the two sides saw Pakistan registering their maiden victory over the Men in Blue in World Cup history after 12 defeats in a row in T20 World Cups and ODI World Cups. Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan scored half-centuries as Pakistan overhauled India’s target without losing a wicket.

While Team India will be looking to avenge the thrashing they received last year, the fans have made sure, they go in numbers to witness the two sides in action. The T20 World Cup 2021 encounter between India and Pakistan gained record numbers of viewership for ICC, becoming the most-watched T20I match of all time.

India-Pakistan T20 World Cup 2022 Match In MCG Sold Out In Five Hours

Known as the ‘G’, Melbourne Cricket Ground had witnessed India’s amazing comeback win in the 2020-21 Border-Gavaskar Trophy second Test, after being bowled out for 36 in Adelaide. Now it will host the blockbuster encounter between India and Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2022 on October 23.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) opened the ticket sales for all the matches of the upcoming tournament in Australia and no surprise, the ones for the India-Pakistan match were sold out within hours. It took just five hours for the tickets for this amazing matchup to get sold out at the MCG.

The tickets went on sale at 6:30 AM IST on Monday, February 7 and at 11:30 AM, a statement on the ICC website read, ‘public ticket allocation’ for India Vs Pakistan has been exhausted.

Announcing the opening of the ticket sales, an ICC release said, “Tickets may still be available through the Official Hospitality and ICC Travel and Tours Programmes. Alternatively, you can join the Waitlist for this match and receive email updates with details of any ticket releases for a specific match.”

Since 2013 the senior men’s team hasn’t won an ICC title as they have lost in the semi-finals on three occasions while losing at the final hurdle in T20 World Cup 2014, 2017 Champions Trophy and in the World Test Championship final against New Zealand last year.
