Australia team skipper Tim Paine is absolutely livid with Decision Review System on Friday after he was dismissed controversially during the ongoing Test match against New Zealand at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Paine looked visibly frustrated when he made his way back to the dressing room.

At the press conference, he highlighted that the dismissal left him disappointed and angry. The right-handed batsman who always received plaudits for his captaincy had struggled to score for the team of late. However, Paine silenced the critics by playing one of his best innings and was en route to scoring his maiden Test ton.

But, tragedy soon followed him around like a shadow when he was trapped for an lbw off Neil Wagner for 79 runs after New Zealand reviewed the on-field umpire Marais Erasmus’ original not out decision.

When he was asked about the DRS technology by broadcaster ABC afterwards and responded: “Don’t start. I thought from the length that it pitched, and the bloke bowling around the wicket, it’s pretty difficult to hit you in line, and hit the stumps,” he said of the delivery. Some commentators also agreed that it was tough to see how Neil Wagner’s ball struck Tim Paine in line and gone on to hit middle stump.

The ball pretty much appeared to be hitting the stumps but the tracking technology showed it going over. “And then you get one late tonight which, the guy’s stuck on the crease, he’s hit really full and it’s going over, so it’s disappointing and it makes me angry,” said Paine.

“I’ve got a few doubts, no doubt about that. I won’t go into it too far because I’ll get in trouble but I’m just seeing time and time again, what I see to the naked eye, or watching it on television in real-time, and then what it comes up is sometimes a little bit off the mark,” Tim Paine added in a statement.
