Australia’s build-up for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy has been far from ideal. Their injury list has been growing with every passing day ever since David Warner limped off the field during the One-day International series.

With the first Test against India just four days away, the Australian think-tank and the selectors are in a real fix, especially as far as the top-order is concerned, given the fact that David Warner, Will Pucovski have been ruled out while Joe Burns is going through horrendous form.

Here’s a look at the injuries suffered by Australia Test squad members and the latest update on each of them:

Injury Type: The Australian swashbuckler limped off the field after he tore his abductor muscle during the second ODI against India at the SCG.

Warner was subsequently ruled out of the last ODI and the three-match T20I series that followed. He has also been ruled out of the Test series opener at the Adelaide Oval.

Injury Status: David Warner recently revealed that he has made a significant amount of progress in the past few days and he feels that he will be ready for the selection for the Boxing Day Test.

“I feel I have made great progress in a short amount of time and it’s best for me to stay here in Sydney to continue working on getting back to full fitness,” David Warner said.

“The injury feels a lot better, but I need to be able to satisfy in my own mind and to my team-mates that I’m 100 per cent ready for Test match conditions… Right now I feel I am short of being able to play at peak fitness and another 10 days will make a difference.” he added.
