Owing to their poor form in Test Cricket, there were doubts over the selection of Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane in India’s playing XI for the first Test against South Africa. Despite all the criticism aimed towards the two and the stellar form of Shreyas Iyer and Hanuma Vihari, both Rahane and Pujara made the cut for the first Test.
