Chennai Super Kings have posted a very good total of 182/3 on the board at the end of their 20 overs.
They had endured a slow start to their innings after some extraordinary bowling by Sunrisers Hyderabad in the first nine overs.
Having lost the toss and asked to bat first, Chennai openers, Shane Watson and Faf du Plessis were troubled to keep the scoreboard ticking before getting out.
They were stranded at 41/2 in the first nine overs but the middle-order batsman Ambati Rayudu was on a rampage, as he counter-attacked Sunrisers’ spinners.
Rayudu has put in a very good partnership with Suresh Raina. The latter also scored some quick runs to increase the rate of scoring in the second half of the game. However, Rayudu was dismissed via a run out while trying to get a cheap second run.
He scored an impressive 79 runs off just 37 balls on a tough wicket. Suresh Raina stayed till the end and anchored the innings. He definitely did not play to his potential but did play his part in restoring balance to the batting after a nightmarish start.
On the other hand, Mahendra Singh Dhoni was also very good in the end scoring 25 runs in just 12 balls to propel Chennai to 182/3.
Here is how Twitter reacted to Chennai’s innings
Only way to dismiss Rayudu was a run out. However SRH bowlers & fielders will have live down 2 nightmarish experiences: Gayle and Rayudu

41/2 in 9 overs. CSK have to hit 50 off in next 6 overs to get this back on track. They don't have the most reliable bowling so anything below 150 will need miracle to win

CSK have a solid foundation seeing off the new ball and will start scoring in the post tea session…
