After winning the first T20 international, India would look to seal the series when they take on West Indies in the second game at Eden Gardens on Friday. India registered a clinical 6-wicket win in the first T20I. Skipper Rohit Sharma won an important toss and asked West Indies to bat first.

Riding on Nicholas Pooran’s 61-run knock in just 43 balls, West Indies managed to score 157 runs in the first innings. Kyle Mayers gave the team a steady start with a 31-run knock in 24 balls but failed to convert that into a big score.
The likes of Roston Chase (4), Rovman Powell (2), and Akeal Hosein (10) lost their wickets early. Kieron Pollard, though, played a crucial 24-run unbeaten knock off 19 balls. However, with due coming in the second innings, a 157-run total was never going to be enough.
For India, debutant Ravi Bishnoi was the pick of the bowlers. He made life difficult for West Indies batsmen, returning with figures of 2 for 17 in 4 overs. Harshal Patel also picked 2 wickets but leaked 37 runs in his four overs.
In reply, Rohit Sharma gave the team a rollicking start with the bat. He scored an outstanding 40-run knock off just 19 balls and helped the team reach the 58-run mark in just the first six overs.
However, India lost a bit of momentum after Rohit Sharma got out. Ishan Kishan (35 off 42) never looked comfortable at the crease, while the likes of Virat Kohli (17 off 13) and Rishabh Pant (8 off 8) got out on low scores. India, at one stage, had lost 4 for wickets for 114 runs.

However, Suryakumar Yadav then joined hands with Venkatesh Iyer and the duo guided the team home in 18.5 overs. Suryakumar Yadav played some beautiful shots and helped India release some pressure.
He played an unbeaten knock off 34 off 18 balls, while Venkatesh Iyer remained unbeaten on 24 off 13. As for West Indies, Roston Chase bowled beautifully and was the pick of the bowlers. He returned with figures of 2 for 14 runs in 4 overs. Akeal Hosein (0 for 34) also applied pressure at the other end but couldn’t pick a wicket in the match.
