India and West Indies will lock horns with each other in the third and final match of the ongoing T20 series on Sunday at Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata. India clinched the series 2-0 after winning the second T20 international by 8 runs on Friday.
India batted first in the last game and got off to a shaky start. The likes of Ishan Kishan (2), Rohit Sharma (19), and Suryakumar Yadav (8) all failed to hit the straps.

Virat Kohli, however, returned to form with a brilliant 52-run knock of 41 balls, including 7 fours and 1 six. Later, Rishabh Pant and Venkatesh Iyer stitched an outstanding 76-run partnership to guide the team to a formidable score of 186 runs in the first innings. Pant played an unbeaten 52-run knock off 28 deliveries, a knock which laced with 7 fours and 1 six.

Venkatesh Iyer also gave him valuable support with a 33-run knock off 18 deliveries. For West Indies, Roston Chase, once again, starred with the ball as he ran through India’s middle-over. He picked three wickets for 25 runs in 4 overs.

West Indies, in pursuit of that score, fell 8 runs short of the target. Windies too didn’t make an ideal start with the bat. Brandon King (22 off 30) and Kyle Mayers (9 off 10) were guilty of getting out on low scores. However, Nicholas Pooran and Rovman Powell then joined hands and stitched a sensational partnership for the third wicket.
The duo scored boundaries at regular intervals and took the game as deep as possible. They fought hard with the bat but, unfortunately, fell 8 runs short of the target in the end. Nicholas Pooran got out after scoring 62 runs in 41 deliveries, while Rovman Powell stayed unbeaten on 68 off 36 balls.
