In India vs West Indies 2nd T20I, India was asked to bat first by West Indies. Openers Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan got out cheaply for 19 and 2 runs. However, one-down Virat Kohli handled the batting well with his 52-run knock.
Later, Rishabh Pant and Venkatesh Iyer also played quickfire knocks to take India to a big total. While Rishabh Pant slammed unbeaten 52 off 28, Venkatesh Oyer scored 33 runs off 18 balls. In the end, India posted 186-5 on the scoreboard.
For West Indies, opener Brandon King scored 22 runs while his partner got out for just 9. Nicholas Pooran slammed 62, scoring a back-to-back fifties in 1st and 2nd T20I. No.4 Rovman Powell also slammed unbeaten 68 runs.

However, in spite of two brilliant knocks by Pooran and Powell, West Indies could not pull off a victory in the end. Needing 29 off the last 2 overs, the visitors could only grab 5 runs in the 19th over. Powell did slam 2 consecutive sixes in the final over, however, they remained short of 8 runs and lost the match.
