IND v WI: Watch - Shardul Thakur Takes A Fine Catch Running Back To Dismiss Dangerous Rovman Powell

India’s Shardul Thakur took an amazing catch running back to send the dangerous Rovman Powell to the pavilion in the ongoing third T20I between India and West Indies at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata on February 20, 2022. India already leads the series 2-0 and hence experimented a bit in this match.

However, the two got out in quick succession and then captain Rohit Sharma joined them after making just 7 runs.

At one point, India was 93/4 in 14 overs and then Suryakumar Yadav and Venkatesh Iyer came together and unleashed 5 overs of the carnage of West Indies bowlers. They added 91 runs in 37 balls including 42 runs in the last two overs as India posted 184/5 in 20 overs.

West Indies In Trouble AS Shardul Thakur Helps Harshal Patel Get Rid Of Rovman Powell  

Deepak Chahar removed both the openers Kyle Mayers and Shai Hope for single-digit scores, before going off the field with an injury. Then Nicholas Pooran and Rovman Powell came together and took apart Avesh Khan, who was making his debut.

They added 47 runs in just 4 overs before Rohit Sharma brought in Harshal Patel into the attack, and despite getting hit for a maximum on his first ball, Patel got Powell to cross bat a wide, short ball up in the air. Shardul Thakur at fine leg ran back as the ball swirled in the air and took an excellent catch to send him back for 25 in 14 balls with 2 fours and 2 sixes.
