UP Warriorz won a nail-biter against Gujarat Giants (GG) & now have qualified for WPL 2023 play-offs. UP Warriorz won the match by 3 wickets with 1 ball left where it was a collective effort from UP Warriorz batters. Grace Harris played a scintillating knock of 72 runs in 41 balls where she struck 7 fours & 4 sixes. Grace Harris took calculative risks & looked in complete control.

UP Warriorz displayed never to say die attitude. Sophie Ecclestone’s all-around performance did wonders for the team as while bowling she took 1 wicket for 27 runs in her 4-over spell & later played a match-winning unbeaten cameo of 19 runs in 13 balls where she struck 2 fours.

Gujarat Giants (GG) skipper Sneh Rana’s decision to give Ashleigh Gardner the 19th over didn’t work well as she gave away 12 runs where only 7 runs were required off the last over. Sneh Rana had a rare off-day where she was taken to the cleaners. GG fans would be dejected as there were huge expectations from them.

UP Warriorz now perhaps would try new combinations against DC Women on 21st March as it looks unlikely that they will top the points table as MI Women have got 10 points with an NRR of +2.67. UP Warriorz perhaps might make Grace Harris bat up the order as she showed immense mental application as at one stage UP Warriorz were in a precarious position where they lost 3 wickets in power-play overs.

I knew we were always in the game- Grace Harris

During the post-match presentation, Grace Harris was asked about whether there are any plans of becoming a commentator in the future and was asked about her performance.

“Will see, I haven’t got any plans for it yet but I am enjoying my game now. Will see in the future. It’s much the same scenario when I come to bat. With short boundaries and a quick outfield, I knew we were always in the game. I was a bit scratchy at the start but I found my range later. I like to finish games.” said Grace Harris.
