The 32-year-old Royal Challengers Bangalore Women (RCB-W) all-rounder Ellyse Perry picked up the huge wicket of the Mumbai Indians Women (MI-W) captain Harmanpreet Kaur in the 19th match of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2023 at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy, Mumbai on March 21.

Harmanpreet Kaur has performed incredibly in the inaugural edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL). However, she failed to guide her side to a victory over RCB-W.

The MI-W skipper was cleaned up by the star all-rounder Ellyse Perry on the first ball of the 10th over for a 5-ball 2. Perry bowled a slower full-length delivery just outside off-stump and Harmanpreet Kaur looked to drive it, but all she could do was drag back the delivery onto her stumps.

Earlier, Harmanpreet Kaur won the toss and elected to bowl first in the match. Harmanpreet has not got a good toss record as she lost most of it in the WPL 2023 and she was quite delighted after finally winning it in her side’s last league stage game.

“I am very happy that we have won the toss today. These things can happen in cricket, sometimes you are doing well and sometimes things don’t go well according to you, we have to be strong. Definitely, it is a very important spot, we want to finish at the top and get to play for the finals. We are playing with the same team,” Harmanpreet Kaur said.
