WTC Final: India vs New Zealand- Toss Report

New Zealand have won the toss against India in the ICC World Test Championship final and elected to bowl first at Southampton. The much-awaited WTC final between the two giants of the cricketing world was hampered by the blitzkrieg rain which led to the cancellation of the entire Day 1 proceeding.

It has been reported that there has been no rainfall in the last few hours in Southampton which means that both the teams can now take to the field for the Ultimate Test. A bit of moisture is expected on the pitch today as there has been nonstop rain at the venue and thus, quick bowlers will definitely have an added benefit from the turf early in the game.

New Zealand have won the toss against India in the ICC World Test Championship final and elected to bowl first at Southampton. It is notable that team India had already declared its playing XI ahead of the first day and went with two spinners and three pacers in the playing XI. However, there can be changes in the Indian playing XI because of the pour down.

As far as the Kiwi team is concerned, they are yet to declare their playing XI and it will be interesting to see as to which bowling options the New Zealand cricket team might explore in the final.

Indian Players In Good Form In The Intra-Squad Match

A three-day intra-squad match took place between the members of the India National Cricket Team ahead of the WTC final wherein some of the players depicted fine form. Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul scored brilliant centuries in the game while Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, and Ravindra Jadeja scored half-centuries.

Ishant Sharma led the bowling unit as he picked three wickets in the practice match whereas, Mohammed Siraj also picked a couple of wickets in the game. The two teams will lock horns from 03:00 pm IST at the Ageas Bowl.
