If Team India raised many eyebrows with their decision to not include Ajinkya Rahane in the playing eleven for the first Test against South Africa, then they sprung a bigger surprise before the ongoing second Test by dropping Bhuvneshwar Kumar, as stated by former Protea bowler Allan Donald.

Kumar had started the game in Cape Town on a stunning note, ripping through South Africa’s top-order to reduce them to 12 for 3 and had gone on to finish the game with six wickets to his name. However, the team management surprisingly decided to drop him for the Test which is currently underway in Centurion.

Reports suggest that India made a bold call after considering the conditions in Centurion is unlikely to aid swing bowling. However, the decision was still a lot to take for many, and former South Africa pace spearhead Allan Donald is certainly one of them.

As soon as the playing eleven was announced, Donald took to Twitter to express his surprise, writing: “@BhuviOfficial left out..you are kidding me???”

In another tweet, the legendary bowler tweeted newcomer Lungi Ngidi who made his debut in the ongoing Test.

“@OfficialCSA many congrats to @NgidiLungi on making his test debut today. Fantastic young talent who has been slamming the door down for a couple of years now. Look forward to seeing him bowl!! #ProteaFire,” Donald wrote.
