Indian Premier League Records & Stats

The IPL has always been an exciting competition between teams where each player gives their best to take their team to win. In the process, they make some records and get their name registered in the Indian Premier League match stats.

The highest score by a team in an innings is the mammoth total of 277 knocked by the SRH against MI in 2024. According to the Indian Premier League stats, they surpassed RCB’s total of 263 registered in 2013 against Pune Warriors India (now defunct).

IPL cricket stats for the lowest score remains with RCB, who were bowled out at 46 by the KKR in 2017.

Best individual batting figures is Chris Gayle’s 175* against PWI in 2013 and till date, none of the batsmen has been able to dethrone the Jamaican giant from this IPL stats.

The best bowling figures in an inning in the IPL is 6 for 12 runs in 3.2 overs by MI’s Alzarri Joseph. Playing against SRH  in 2019, Alzarri’s spell derailed the batting unit of SRH and left them crippling for runs.

IPL stats for most centuries (overall and a single season), and the highest runs scored in a single season are written by the name of The “run-machine” Virat Kohli. He has a total of 8 centuries in 233 innings and while playing for the Challengers, Kohli mustered a massive total of 973 runs in the 9th season.

Yuzvendra Chahal has the most number of wickets in IPL (195 in 149 innings) including one 5-wicket haul and nineteen 3-wicket hauls making him the most successful bowler of the league.

An embarrassing record for the most number of ducks in IPL is of Dinesh Karthik who has a total of 17 ducks after the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma who has 16.

With these many matches played every season and with the ever-increasing quality of cricket, many more of these records will be breached and new chapters including new names will be written. And for more interesting IPL men’s T20 stats, follow Cricket Addictor.
