Most Ducks in IPL History

The list shows the players who have managed to achieve the dubious record of registering most ducks in the IPL. For those who don't know, 'duck' in cricket refers to a batsman being dismissed without scoring a single run. The term is derived from the shape of the number zero, which resembles a duck's egg.

No player likes to get out even before opening his account but it is a very common phenomenon in the game. Time and again, one has seen players getting out even before they could score a run. The IPL is not an exception either as one has seen players getting out for ducks on a regular basis.

The high-pressure nature of T20 cricket does not allow the players to take their time and get their eyes set. As a result, they try to play their shots right from the start and often fail to get the reward. A duck highlights the challenges even the best of players face in the T20s. It shows that cricket can not only be rewarding but also very humbling. 

At present, Australian allrounder Glenn Maxwell holds the record for most ducks in the IPL. One of the best T20 players in the world from the last one decade or so, Maxwell has registered as many as 18 ducks in his IPL career so far.

He is followed by Dinesh Karthik and Rohit Sharma, two of the most decorated batsmen in the IPL. Piyush Chawla and Sunil Narine complete the top five.
