If we consider all the all-rounders who ever played for India, there are no doubts that Ravindra Jadeja will top the list. While most of the cricketers are known for their batting or bowling prowess, Ravindra Jadeja is someone who is known for his fabulous fielding.

Ravindra Jadeja is a left-handed batter who plays in the lower order. During MS Dhoni's tenure as captain, Jadeja used to follow him in the batting order.

After Dhoni's ouster, Jadeja has held the No.7 position in all three formats for India. Jadeja is a left-arm spinner who bowls left-arm orthodox.

Interestingly, the Indian all-rounder is among the only few players who are part of all three formats in the current team. For the last few years, Jadeja has represented Indian team in Tests, ODIs, and T20I regularly.

Therefore, he is part of the BCCI's A+ category for central contracts- sharing the platform with legends Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Jasprit Bumrah in the current contract.

Ravindra Jadeja was born in Jamnagar city in Gujarat on December 6, 1988. His father, Anirudh Jadeja, worked as a private security guard. His mother, Lata Jadeja, was a housewife who died in an accident in 2005.

Jadeja also has two sisters- Naina and Padmini. He tied the knot with Rivaba Solanki in April 2016. He also has a daughter.

The all-rounder started his cricket career with the Saurashtra team in the domestic circuit. He was part of the Virat Kohli-led Indian team that won the ICC U-19 World Cup 2008 in Malaysia.

After the achievement, Jadeja got the opportunity to make his international debut in February 2009 with an ODI game against Sri Lanka. He also made his T20I debut in the same series.

However, Jadeja had to wait for four years for his Test debut. He played his first-ever Test match against England in December 2012. He went on to become one of the consistent all-rounders for India in the red-ball format.

Today, Jadeja is a permanent member of the Indian Test team due to his ability to both bat and bowl. Ravindra Jadeja was also part of the Indian team that won the ICC Champions Trophy in 2013.

However, it is the only ICC title that Jadeja has won with the Indian team. He was a member of the Indian team that won the Asia Cup tournaments in 2010, 2016, 2018, and 2023.

Ravindra Jadeja has grabbed the top rank in the ICC Test rankings for all-rounders on multiple occasions. He has a few impeccable records to his name. He holds the record for a century and a 5-wicket haul in a Test match.

He was the first player to score 1000 runs and get 100 wickets in ODIs. He was also the first-ever player to reach 1000 runs, 50 wickets, and 50 catches in One-Day Internationals.

Jadeja is also a popular name in the Indian Premier League. He has become a poster boy of Chennai Super Kings franchise. The CSK legend has been part of the team since the 2018 season. He stormed six and boundary in the 2023 season final to drive CSK to a 5th IPL title. The franchise has given him the title of “Cricket Thalapathy”.
