Ravindra Jadeja is an Indian cricketer who plays international cricket for Team India. In domestic cricket, he represents Saurashtra while in the Indian Premier League, he plays for Chennai Super Kings.
Jadeja is a left-arm spin-bowling all-rounder. Here we are taking a look at Ravindra Jadeja's IPL career so far.
Ravindra Jadeja's IPL teams:
Ravindra Jadeja's IPL career began in 2008, just months after he helped India win the Under-19 World Cup. Ravindra Jadeja's first IPL team was Rajasthan Royals. He is one of the handful of Indian players who won the IPL title in the very first season.
Jadeja played a key role in the Royals' triumph and his performance was so impressive that captain Shane Warne gave him the nickname 'Rockstar Jadeja'. Batting lower down the order, he scored 135 runs at a strike rate of over 130.
In 2009, he plied his trade for the Royals once again. Ravindra Jadeja's IPL runs that season was 295 and he picked up 6 wickets as well. That all-round performance in 2009 made him one of the most sought-after youngsters in the tournament.
However, Jadeja could not play in IPL 2010 as he was suspended for entertaining offers from other IPL franchises and undermining his contract with the Royals.
Jadeja was in the auction ahead of IPL 2011 and was bought by now-defunct Kochi Tuskers Kerala. He played just one season with Kochi Tuskers as they were banned.
In 2012, Jadeja joined Chennai Super Kings and has been playing for them since then barring the two seasons when the franchise was suspended.
In those two seasons (2016 and 2017), Jadeja played for the now-defunct Gujarat Lions. He returned to Chennai Super Kings in 2018 and has been with them since then. In 2022, he also led the team briefly before stepping down as he struggled to make an impact.
