Ireland

Ireland attempted their first T20 World Cup appearance in 2007 but could not qualify for further rounds.

Later in the next 7 editions, the team displayed some good cricket but eventually ended up getting eliminated in the group stage.

In this edition, Ireland will be looking forward to put on an even better performance and compete in the T20 World Cup to pose some competition to other teams and mark themselves as a serious participant.

With some team building, cricketing power hitters, and the current arsenal of talented youngsters and seasoned veterans, Ireland team will look forward to outshine their opponents and present some good cricket to other teams in the tournament.

Now, in the 9th edition of the tournament, Ireland’s Captain Paul Sterling eyes the World Cup and looking at the Ireland ICC T20 World Cup team, it flickers a hope of a new match-up in the World Cup.

FAQs

Paul Sterling captains the Ireland team in the T20 format.

Ireland team is a budding team of the T20 format and is struggling to become an established team of the sport, winning 67 out of its 160 total T20I matches.

With the kind of players it has in its arsenal, Ireland will look forward to pose some competitions to other teams in the tournament.
