Cricket could be a harsh game sometimes as the players tend to have different ideas and they start to bore hatred among themselves through differences in opinion. Despite all the rift going between the players, they must ensure that it doesn’t affect the harmony in the team and act accordingly.

The style of captaincy could be even a cause for a player having issues with his teammate and it is very important the leader is trusted by the whole team. Any issues inside the team are better to be sorted out as it could affect the team indirectly. Here are 5 teammates who bore hatred among themselves.

5 Teammates Who Bore Hatred Between Themselves:

The Australian dressing room witnessed one of the nastiest incidents of two players involved in an ugly fight after the test win against South Africa in 2009 in the Sydney cricket ground. Michael Clarke wanted to leave the dressing room soon for a function when the team needed to finish their celebration song which was a routine. Clarke was kept waiting and in frustration, he uttered few unprofessional words which agitated Simon Katich.

Katich had caught the neck of Michael Clarke in anger at the words spoken and the whole dressing room was taken by surprise. A few years later under Clarke’s captaincy, Katich lost his place and there were talks of Clarke taking his revenge through it, but he admitted it had nothing to do with him.

4.Kevin Pietersen – Graeme Smith

Former England batsman Kevin Pietersen and former South Africa captain Graeme Smith had shared controversies among them. Pietersen who came out of South Africa and played for England had criticized in his autobiography about the bullying nature of the South African cricket team and how Graeme Smith used to sledge in the series against England.

It did not stop there and they had a series of tweets thrown against each other on Twitter. Pietersen had made fun of the unusual technique that Smith had and Smith replied with the troubles that Pietersen had against left-arm spin. Both are two of the great players that the nations have seen and they played for the same county side in the later stages of their career.

“The Rawalpindi Express” Shoaib Akthar and “Boom Boom” Shahid Afridi were two of the greatest cricketers from Pakistan to have played the games. Both have played a pivotal part in carrying the nation in the 2000s and before the ICC T20 world cup 2007, there were speculations about Akthar’s actions against Mohammad Asif.

Shoaib Akthar who is the fastest bowler in the world blamed Shahid Afridi for his behaviour against Mohammad Asif and Afridi denied that it wasn’t him who provoked Akthar for his actions. Shoaib Akthar as a result was removed from the squad and had to apologize to Mohammad Asif after that. But it did not go well between Akthar and Afridi.

Adam Gilchrist was one of the best wicketkeeper-batsman the game has ever seen and he had a rift between spin wizard Shane Warne when they played together for Australia. Shane Warne after turning out as a commentator revealed that the rift between Gilchrist and him started after Warne’s friend Darren Berry did not get the nod ahead of Gilchrist.

Warne even accused Gilchrist of “goody-two-shoes” in a match between Victoria and Western Australia and Gilchrist never forgot that. They have shared a lot of speculations and memories in the Australian dressing room after that and Warne included Gilchrist in the best Australian all-time XI which went out well in the end.
