Actress Arshi Khan Feels Her Engagement To An Afghanistani Cricketer Might Be Cancelled As Taliban Takes Control

The Taliban has taken over Afghanistan and renamed it the Islamic Emirates of Afghanistan, the whole country has been plunged into uncertainty. Not only the Afghan nationals are trying to flee the country for a better future, looking for asylum in neighboring nations, but even some other individuals are also fearing for their future, including actress Arshi Khan.

TV Actress Arshi Khan, who is also a model and gained fame thanks to her stint in Big Boss reality TV show, has revealed that she was about to get engaged to an Afghanistan cricketer later this year, but now fears that this could be in jeopardy given the current situation of the country under the hardline Islamic Taliban.

After The Taliban Takeover Of Afghanistan, We May Have To Put An End To The Relationship: Arshi Khan

Arshi Khan was a contestant in a popular reality show ‘Big Boss 11′ and had also returned to the show in the 14th season as a challenger. She is also known for her work in TV shows like Savitri Devi College & Hospital’, ‘Vish’ and ‘Ishq Mein Marjawan’. Apart from all this, the actress has also appeared in web series – ‘Raat Ki Rani Begum Jaan’ and ‘The Evil Desires’.

Arshi further said that she was supposed to get engaged to an Afghanistan cricketer (name withheld) in October, which was chosen by her father.

“I was to get engaged in October with an Afghanistan cricketer. He had been chosen by my father. But after the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan, we may have to put an end to the relationship. He was my father’s friend’s son. We are also on talking terms and are like friends, but now I’m sure my parents will find me an Indian partner,” she was quoted as saying by Zee News.

The 31-year-old revealed that her family’s roots are in Afghanistan, but her family moved to India when she was just four years old.

“I’m an Afghani Pathan, and my family belongs to the Yusufzai ethnic group. My grandfather had migrated from Afghanistan and was a jailer in Bhopal. My roots are in Afghanistan, but I am very much an Indian citizen, like my parents and grandparents,” Arshi Khan further said.
