Pakistan players have reportedly recovered from a viral infection ahead of their next match against Australia in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. Key players like Shaheen Afridi, Abdullah Shafique, and Mohammad Rizwan returned to the practice session before the crucial game.

Earlier, ESPNcricinfo reported that Pakistan players were dealing with a viral flu. The report mentioned that Shafique had to quarantine in his hotel room due to a fever. The Pakistan team did not train on Tuesday, October 17, and returned to action the following day.

Pakistan Players Have Recovered From Viral Flu – Report

Cricket journalist Arfa Feroz Zake confirmed that Abdullah Shafique has successfully recovered from a viral flu outbreak. Arfa Feroz also mentioned that Mohammad Rizwan and Shaheen Afridi have rejoined the practice session after resting yesterday.

“The camp of the Pakistan Cricket Team has recovered from viral flu. Abdullah Shafique is fully back on the field. Mohammad Rizwan and Shaheen Afridi who were on rest yesterday are also taking part in the practice session at M Chinnaswamy Stadium Bengaluru,” Arfa Feroz tweeted.

The Babar Azam-led team began the World Cup campaign with two wins before suffering a defeat against arch-rivals India at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. They will take on Australia at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Friday, October 20.
