The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has demolished fraudsters who asked for money from people for admission into the National Cricket Academy (NCA). BCCI has clarified that it does not charge any money for admissions into NCA.
Recently, BCCI came to know that some fake advertisements are demanding money for admission into the National Cricket Academy. NCA is a cricket facility developed by the board to develop young and emerging cricketers.
NCA is situated in Bengaluru. The venue also helps players who are battling injuries and also helps them in the rehabilitation process. When an Indian player sustains an injury, he is sent to NCA for rehab.

However, when some fraudsters tried to dupe people with fake advertisements about admission into NCA, the Board of Control for Cricket in India targeted them with an official statement. BCCI secretary Jay Shah released an official statement which informed that the board does not charge money from cricketers to use its facility.
“The BCCI wishes to clarify that it does not charge any money from cricketers to use its facility. The BCCI has its set of protocols, and entry into the NCA is a merit-based process,” a statement issued read.
The statement also noted NCA is only for BCCI’s contracted players and players from state teams and it is not open to any other third party.
“The NCA is open to only BCCI’s contracted players, players in the targeted group, and cricketers recommended by state associations. It is not open to any agency other than the ones mentioned above,” the statement further said.

Cricketers, coaches, and the public at large are advised to exercise caution
BCCI also cautioned emerging cricketers and coaches to refrain from falling prey to any such fake advertisements that urge them to pay money for admission into NCA.
“Cricketers, coaches and the public at large are advised to exercise caution and not fall prey to such fake and fraudulent posts and approach the respective state associations for guidance,” the official press release further read.
The board issues new guidelines for centrally contracted players
Meanwhile, BCCI recently issued new guidelines for centrally contracted players. The Indian Cricket Board has made a new rule that centrally contracted players will need to play in Ranji Trophy games. The Indian Cricket Board is also going to make it mandatory for players to play in at least 4 Ranji Trophy games to participate in IPL tournaments.
Notably, the board issued the rule after several players skipped Ranji Trophy tournaments on purpose to prepare for IPL 2024. Former India player Mohammad Kaif welcomed the board’s decisions. He believes if a player is fit, he should play in the Ranji Trophy. Interestingly, rumors are rife that Mumbai Indians player Ishan Kishan skipped Ranji Trophy 2024 matches due to IPL 2024, which will commence next month.
