Delhi Capitals (DC) skipper Rishabh Pant drew attention before the match against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season. Rishabh Pant liked a post on social media suggesting that he should play for another franchise in the Indian Premier League.

Rishabh Pant is currently leading the Delhi Capitals in the ongoing season. The Delhi team is in sixth place in the 10-team points table, having secured five wins out of 11 league stage matches. The team needs to win the remaining three matches to secure a berth in the playoffs of the tournament.

The wicketkeeper batter returned to competitive cricket in the ongoing IPL 2024 after a 15-month absence due to multiple injuries sustained in a car crash in December 2022. The left-handed batter underwent surgeries and extensive rehabilitation before making his comeback with the Capitals.

The 26-year-old batter has been a consistent performer this season, scoring 398 runs in 11 matches with an impressive average of 44.22 and a strike rate above 150. Pant has scored 270 runs in six games at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, including two fifties and the best score of unbeaten 88 runs.

Rishabh Pant Unhappy With Delhi Capitals

Rishabh Pant expressed dissatisfaction with the Delhi Capitals and hinted at leaving the franchise after the IPL 2024. The young cricketer liked a post on Instagram where the caption praised his leadership skills, suggesting that he might receive more recognition with another team in the tournament.

"Leader! Honestly speaking, if Rishabh Pant is in any other team, his captaincy skill will get more hype. He is a born leader," the caption read.

Rishabh Pant is poised to return to international cricket in the 2024 T20 World Cup, marking his first appearance for India since December 2022. After missing the ICC World Test Championship final and the ODI World Cup last year, Pant aims to maintain his impressive performance in the T20 World Cup.

Rishabh Pant has scored 987 runs in 66 T20Is at a strike rate of 126.37 with three half-centuries. The southpaw scored three and six runs in two innings against Zimbabwe and England, respectively, in the 2022 T20 World Cup. He has scored 87 runs in five innings at a strike rate of 122.54 in T20 World Cups.
