'Future appears to be bright', says Mumbai coach Amol Muzumdar after defeat in Ranji Trophy final

Mumbai might have lost the Ranji Trophy final but head coach Amol Muzumdar feels the future of the team still looks “bright” as the side has “incredible skills.”

Madhya Pradesh on Sunday scripted history and captured their maiden Ranji Trophy title, defeating favorites Mumbai in the finals by six wickets at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Sunday.

Amol Muzumdar, who won the Ranji Trophy in his maiden season for Mumbai in 1993-94, also congratulated team Madhya Pradesh after the side clinched a historic win.

“I’m quite proud of these young men. It’s the next generation; they all have incredible skill, and all we have to do is point them in the right path. The future appears to be bright, as they have demonstrated this season. Looking forward to it! And Congratulations to MP for their first title,” Amol Muzumdar said on the Koo app.

The win for Madhya Pradesh was so sweet that even MP Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan couldn’t stop himself himself from lauding the exceptional performance of the side.

Shivraj Singh Chouhan penned a congratulatory note for the Madhya Pradesh team on the Koo app.

“We are the champions,” he captioned the post.

Meanwhile, former Indian spinner Pragyan Ojha also congratulated the side on maiden Ranji Trophy title win.

“Congratulations team #MadhyaPradesh for winning the tournament and very well tried team #mumbai #RanjiTrophy2022,” Ojha said on Koo app.

The victory on Sunday is more precious as it come over Mumbai who had won the title 41 times and were the favorites coming into the summit clash
