I Am Eager To Meet Virat Kohli, He Has Been My Inspiration - Yash Dhull

Prodigious Delhi batter Yash Dhull said he is keen to meet his idol and star Indian batter Virat Kohli and learn every little thing from his storied international career. Dhull has been making headlines for the last two months.

First, he led the India U19 team to their fifth title in the ICC U19 World Cup 2022 and then announced himself in domestic a very fashionable manner by scoring twin hundreds in his debut match against Tamil Nadu in Ranji Trophy 2022.

Yash Dhull’s coach Rajesh Nagar has admitted that his ward has a glimpse of Virat Kohli’s aggression in his batting and fielding. Dhull himself admires the former Indian team skipper and is excited to meet his icon.

“I am eager to meet Virat bhaiya. He has been my inspiration. I have always idolised him. I want to interact with him and take a lot of tips from him. I want to ask him how he bats in a crunch and high-pressure games, how he manages to control his mind, and how he took his fitness to another level,” Dhull told TimesofIndia.com.

“I have led the under-19 team but the way Virat bhaiya handled his team and players was amazing. I want to ask him how he managed his team and ensured his players stay pressure-free so that they can put in their best performances,” he added.

Dhull joined the likes of Mohammad Kaif, Kohli, Unmkut Chand and Prithvi Shaw to win the U19 World Cup for India as their captain. The 19-year-old amassed 229 from four matches at an average of 76.33, he scored a match-winning 110 against Australia U19 in the semi-final.

Dhull has scored 479 runs in six innings at an average of 119.75 in the Ranji Trophy 2022 so far. The youngster slammed an unbeaten 200 against Chattisgarh in his last innings. Dhull will play for the Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals side in the IPL 2022 after he was purchased by the franchise for INR 50 lakhs in the auction.
