The 33-year-old Pakistan National Cricket Team left-handed opening batsman Fakhar Zaman has enjoyed his time in India in the ongoing edition of the ICC Cricket World Cup.

Fakhar Zaman has looked a class apart with the bat in the last couple of games of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. He was dropped from the playing XI after his poor 12-run knock in Pakistan’s World Cup opener against Netherlands.

The opening batsman returned to the playing XI after Imam-ul-Haq was left out due to his poor performances. Fakhar Zaman made a smashing comeback and played back-to-back match-winning knocks against Bangladesh of 81 runs and against New Zealand of 126* runs.

He will be next seen in action when Pakistan face England in their last ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 group stage game at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on November 11.

The Men In Green are currently in the fifth position on the Points Table with 4 wins and 4 losses in 8 matches. They have a Net Run Rate of +0.036, but it isn’t enough for them to seal a place in the knockouts. They need to pull off a miracle in their last game to overtake New Zealand’s Net Run Rate and seal a semi-final spot.

The cricket in India is of excellent quality – Fakhar Zaman

Speaking ahead of the match against England, Fakhar Zaman stated that he has enjoyed the crowd support in India. He also labeled India as the “best in the world to play cricket.” Fakhar Zaman said:

“The cricket in India is of excellent quality. You enjoy crowd support alot if you are not playing against India. It was a great experience playing WorldCup in India. India is the best in the world to play cricket.”

Fakhar Zaman also said that they will give it all in the match against England National Cricket Team with the hope of qualifying for the semi-finals. He elaborated:

“We pray we play semi. It is difficult but the world lives on hope. We will make full efforts even if 1% chance to qualify for semi. We will try to win against England because at least we will have same points if not net-run rate.”
