Indian fast bowler Umesh Yadav will return to his former franchise Delhi Capitals after he was picked by the 2020 runner-up in the ongoing IPL 2021 Auction.

Umesh Yadav had listed himself at a base price of Rs 1 Crore ahead of the IPL 2021 Auction and it is the exact amount that Delhi Capitals will be paying him for his services as no other franchise placed its bid for the Vidarbha speedster.

This will be Umesh Yadav’s second stint with the Shreyas Iyer-led Delhi Capitals. He represented the erstwhile Delhi Daredevils between 2010-13.

Yadav was then claimed by Kolkata Knight Riders ahead of the 2014 IPL, whom he represented for four seasons.

The Indian speedster was racked up by the Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2018 auction.

Umesh Yadav had a forgettable 2020 IPL campaign where he couldn’t manage a single wicket and went at a rate of 11.85 per over. He was eventually dropped from the playing 11 before being released ahead of the IPL 2021 auction.

Umesh Yadav has thus far featured in 121 IPL games in which he has claimed 119 wickets at an average of 30.08 and an economy rate of 8.51.
