MS Dhoni-led IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings departed for UAE on Friday (August 13) for the second leg of IPL 2021. The official Twitter handle of Chennai Super Kings posted some photos of the CSK players. In the photos, they can be seen waiting at the airport to catch their flight to Dubai.

The second leg of IPL 2021 will be played in UAE from September 19 to October 15, 2021. The IPL 2021 started in April this year but due to the rising Covid-19 pandemic in India, the tournament had to be postponed. Several players and staff members contacted Covid-19 due to which BCCI decided to suspend the tournament with immediate effect. A total of 29 matches were played in the 1st leg of IPL 2021.

MS Dhoni Departs For UAE With CSK Teammates For IPL 2021

CSK shared photos of players like MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, Deepak Chahar, among others chatting at the airport before boarding their Dubai flight. In one photo, CSK skipper MS Dhoni can be seen holding his luggage. ‘Get ready folks!’, CSK captioned the photo. Have a look at the posts below.

MS Dhoni has retired from international cricket but he is active in franchise cricket league IPL. After announcing retirement from international cricket in August 2020, MS Dhoni played IPL 2020 while leading Chennai Super Kings.

In the first leg of IPL 2021, the wicket-keeper batsman led CSK to 5 victories in 7 games. When the tournament got suspended, CSK held the 2nd spot in the points table with 10 points in their kitty.

IPL 2021 will commence on September 19 in UAE. Dubai, Sharjah, and Abu Dhabi are the three venues that will host all the remaining games of IPL 2021. Delhi Capitals currently holds the top spot in the points table with 12 points. The Rishabh Pant-led side has won 6 matches out of 8.

Shikhar Dhawan currently has the orange cap with the most runs in the tournament. The Dehli Capitals opener has scored 380 runs in 8 innings at an average of 54.29. He is followed by KL Rahul, who has mustered 331 runs in 7 innings at an average of 66.20.

In bowling, RCB’s Harshal Patel has the purple cap with most 17 wickets in 7 matches. He is followed by Delhi Capitals’ pacer Avesh Khan, who accounts for 14 wickets in 8 matches.
