Royal Challengers Bengaluru's batting stalwart and 2024 Indian Premier League's Orange Cap holder Virat Kohli was seen bluffing with KKR opener Sunil Narine about bowling the first over.

Before Mohammed Siraj bowled the first over of the innings at the iconic Eden Gardens, Kohli was seen handing his cap to the umpire and started to warm up like a bowler and tricked everyone into thinking that he would bowl the first over.

Then, in another clip, Virat Kohli was seen telling Sunil Narine to beware of his bowling and that he would be given the ball anytime in the match. The KKR vs RCB match-up had not even started and it gave us the first of many more moments to come.

The Powerplay as it went

But all the bluffs and tricks from Virat Kohli didn't seem to work as the Kolkata Knight Riders, thanks to the efforts from Sunil Narine and Phil Salt, got off to yet another flying start. The duo, as they have been doing this season, thrashed the RCB bowlers from the word go and are well and truly playing according to their reputation and fearsome style.

England's Phillip Salt was the one who did most of the damage to the bowling attack led by Siraj and has names like Yash Dayal and Lockie Ferguson among others. Salt was tormenting the RCB bowlers and was looking very close to scoring IPL history's one of the fastest half-centuries but that's when RCB's most trusted man with the ball, Mohammed Siraj did the trick and led to his departure after a monstrous 48 off 13.

Before he had departed, Salt had smacked 28 runs off Lockie Ferguson's over. Moments after Salt's exit, Yash Dayal bowled a wonderful outside-off slower delivery which Narine mistimed and the ball landed safely in the hands of Virat Kohli, who was never going to miss that dolly of a catch.

So the RCB have got off to a mixed start wherein they have picked up the wickets of KKR's danger men but also conceded 76 runs in the powerplay. The visitors got another big fish when Yash Dayal bowled another outside-off delivery to Angkrish Raghuvanshi who flicked that one to mid-wicket but all-rounder Cameron Green stretched his right-arm and completed a sensational catch to dismiss the uncapped Indian youngster for 3. That was Raghuvanshi's second occasion of getting out without scoring a double digit score.

This is a must win game for the RCB if they want to keep their hopes to reach the play-offs alive in IPL 2024. If they get a 200+ of a 180+ target, then they will be hoping that star batter Virat Kohli fires from the top-order along with Faf du Plessis, Rajat Patidar, Will Jacks and Dinesh Karthik among others.
