The biggest bidding festival in the sporting world – IPL auction 2024, is just a sleep away from now. The event is all set to take place at Dubai’s Coca-Cola Arena on Tuesday (19th December) and the preparations for it are in full flow.

Some of the big names in the game are set to go under the hammer and it’s fair to say that franchises would be eager to acquire them. The think tank of teams would be ready with permutations and combinations and would be looking to execute the strategies that they have been making ahead of the IPL auction 2024.

As the IPL  auction 2024 is just a day away now, Jio Cinema on Monday (18th December) organized a mock auction and gave fans glimpses of what will be on the cards when the real event begins in Dubai on Tuesday at Coca-Cola Arena.

Former Chennai Super Kings batter Suresh Raina represented his franchise in the mock auction. He made a staggering bid and acquired the services of hard-hitting Australian batter Travis Head. The ‘Chennai Thala’ bought an opening batter for INR 7.5 crore in the dummy IPL  auction 2024.

Travis Head is likely to invite a bidding war in the IPL auction 2024. The reason behind this has been the kind of impact he has had for Australia in the last one year in all three formats of the game. The opening batter has proved himself as a big match player and has been one of the main reasons behind Australia winning the ICC World Test Championship Final and World Cup 2023.

Travis Head no doubt will be on the radar of many franchises and whichever side he plays for, will have an added advantage because of his presence. The Australian opener has set himself a base price of INR 2 crores and it won’t be a surprise if he gets more than 10 crores.

Apart from Suresh Raina, former Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) Director of cricket Mike Hesson was also present in the mock IPL  auction 2024. He represented the Faf du Plessis-led side and went all out for Australia fast bowler Mitchell Starc.

Mike Hesson brought Mitchell Starc for INR 18.5 crore in the mock IPL auction 2024. It won’t be a surprise if the left-arm pacer actually gets this much money. He arguably has been one of the best pacers in the World Cricket and many teams would be eager to have him in the team for the upcoming edition.

Royal Challengers Banglore (RCB), in particular, will be keen to get Starc in the team. The Faf du Plessis-led lacks a quality fast bowler and getting an Australian pacer in the ranks would make them a balanced team. The fast bowler earlier played for the same team in the league. He has set himself at a base price of INR 2 crore and he’s expected to break all the records in the IPL auction 2024. The pacer has played 27 games in the IPL and has taken 34 wickets at an economy of 7.17.
