2023 has come to an end and the year observed many nail-biting ODI games. ICC ODI World Cup took place this year which witnessed Australia winning the title for the 6th time. There were also many exciting matches during the tournament.

He also won the player-of-the-tournament award. Kohli surpassed Sachin Tendulkar’s mark of 49 ODI centuries during the World Cup. He slammed 6 centuries- the most than any other player in 2023. Kohli also smacked 8 half-centuries and held an average of 72.47 across 27 matches.

The Indian opener also shattered 5 centuries and 9 half-centuries. Notably, he made a strong statement by smashing an ODI double ton at the start of this year.

New Zealand middle-order batter Daryl Mitchell stormed 5 centuries in 2023 in ODIs. The right-handed batsman hit 1204 runs in 26 games and was the leading run-scorer for Blackcap this year.

He also scored 3 fifties and held an average of 52+. Against a strong bowling attack against India in ICC World Cup 2023, Mitchell blasted centuries in both clashes.

Mohammed Shami played just 19 ODI games in 2023. However, he ended as the third-highest wicket-taker with 43 wickets. The Indian pacer showed a stunning performance in ICC World Cup 2023 too, where he grabbed the most wickets for India.

He also clinched 3 five-wicket hauls in the World Cup including the best bowling show of 7.57 by an Indian pacer ever. Shami registered an average of 16.46 and an economy of 5.32 in the 50-over format this year.
