PBKS vs MI: Watch - Chandigarh crowd's unacceptable remarks towards Hardik Pandya causes uproar

Mumbai Indians (MI) skipper Hardik Pandya was at the receiving end of the same treatment poor treatment from the fans ahead of the game against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The match between the two teams is underway at the newly built Stadium in Chandigarh. 

Things are turning from bad to worse for the Mumbai Indians skipper Hardik Pandya in the ongoing IPL 2024. Wherever he is going he is at the receiving end of boos from the fans. The all-rounder has been greeted with "Rohit Rohit" chants as well in all games he has played.

Things didn't look great for him ahead of the ongoing game against Punjab Kings as well. As the all-rounder was undergoing his training and running session, some section of the crowd didn't go easy on him and left no stone unturned in mocking him. 

Hardik Pandya was the receiving end of "Chapri Chapri" chants. In the video that has gone viral on the internet, the all-rounder can be seen running while fans can be heard shouting bad words at him at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, Chandigarh. One fan also loudly said that 'Rohit tera baap hai'.

Hardik Pandya has been getting the treatment because of the way he took over the captaincy of Mumbai Indians from Rohit Sharma. The senior opener batter guided the team to five title wins and with the way he was removed, that didn't go well with the fans as they lashed out at the all-rounder. 

Hardik Pandya has been going through a torrid run with bat and ball in the ongoing IPL 2024. The all-rounder has struggled to get going with the bat and ball as well. This has worsened the case for him and apart from that he also has struggled with his leadership as well. 

Hardik Pandya has received a lot of backlash from the fans as well. Various experts too haven't gone easy on him. There even have been calls to remove him from the leadership. In the ongoing IPL 2024 so far, Mumbai Indians have managed just 2 wins.

Speaking at the toss, Hardik Pandya stated that they don't judge their performance and they will take one game at the moment. He talked about his team's desire to win. He explained: 

"We wanted to bat first as well, so good toss to lose. We don't judge (our performances), a couple of times we had the game in our grasp and didn't finish the game, IPL tests you, and when the game is not over it is not over. We just take it game by game, go out there and give our 100 per cent. Every indivdual should commit to the team's goal and once we do that, the results will be seen. Same team," he concluded.
