After failing to open his account in his last outing, Suryakumar Yadav bounced back in style in the ongoing game between Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur, Chandigarh.

The right-handed batsman could not open his account in the last game against Chennai Super Kings. In the ongoing game, he scored a fine fifty to put Mumbai Indians in a commanding position. Suryakumar Yadav walked out to bat in the third over of the innings after Kagiso Rabada dismissed Ishan Kishan for just eight runs.

Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav then steadied the ship with an 81-run stand. Sam Curran broke the stand by dismissing Rohit for 36. Unlike Rohit, Suryakumar Yadav made the most of the start and scored a fine fifty. The India star was looking in good touch and Punjab Kings needed something special to get rid of him in order to stop himself from inflicting further damage.

Prabhsimran Singh did exactly that as he came up with a brilliant effort to send back Suryakumar Yadav. On the second ball of the 17th over, Sam Curran bowled a wide yorker and the Mumbai star reached for the ball. He, however, ended up scooping the ball over the point region where Prabhsimran Singh was standing.

At first, it looked like the ball would sail over Prabhsimran Singh's head. However, the PBKS star made a timely jump and caught the ball overhead with both hands to send back the dangerous batter. Suryakumar Yadav departed after scoring 78 runs off 53 balls with the help of seven fours and six sixes.
