PSL 9 Draft: Hasan Ali Joins Karachi Kings As Imad Wasim Moves To Islamabad United

Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchises have started finalizing their player retentions for the upcoming draft. Karachi Kings’ captain Imad Wasim has been swapped for Hasan Ali from Islamabad United, marking one of the biggest trades in the history of the PSL.

Imad Wasim, who led Karachi Kings to their first title in the PSL 5, has been acquired by Islamabad United under the Platinum category. In exchange, Hasan Ali, who played for Islamabad in the last season, will now represent Karachi Kings under the Diamond category.

The PCB Confirms The Swap Of Imad Wasim And Hasan Ali

On Wednesday, November 29, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed that Imad Wasim will play for Islamabad United in the upcoming ninth edition of the tournament, while Hasan Ali has moved to Karachi Kings.

“HBL PSL 5 winning captain Imad Wasim will don Islamabad United colours in the ninth edition of the tournament. Imad, who was named as the All-Rounder of HBL PSL 8, has been snapped by Islamabad United in the Platinum category,” the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said in a brief press release.

“Hasan Ali (Diamond category) moves to Karachi Kings. By virtue of this player trade, Karachi Kings have received Islamabad United’s first round silver pick in exchange for their second round silver pick,” it added.

Imad Wasim has been with the Karachi Kings since the first season and guided the team to victory in 2016. The Karachi-based franchise bid farewell, thanking him for eight seasons of passion and dedication and wishing him the best in his new journey.

Islamabad United also extended their good wishes to Hasan Ali, acknowledging his passion and incredible performances. The franchise mentioned that Hasan will always be a part of the Islamabad United family.
