The aggressive nature of Virat Kohli was in the fray during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 game between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). The Eden Gardens in Kolkata saw the fiercest nature of the Indian batter.

Virat Kohli, who has been going through the purple patch in the ongoing IPL 2024, couldn't score big in the game against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens. It happened because of the controversial dismissal call that was given against him in the second innings of the match.

Virat Kohli got a high full toss from Harshit Rana and by the looks of it, the ball seemed to be above the waist. The batter was out of his crease and that made the umpire raise his finger immediately. The RCB opener then challenged the on-field call because he was adamant that it was a no-ball.

The third umpire after checking the replays got to the conclusion that the ball was dipping, and had the batter been in his crease, it would've been below the waist. However, this didn't go well with Virat Kohli as he was seen arguing with the on-field umpire.

He was livid with the umpire's decision and it was quite evident when he was walking back to the pavilion. The batter kept murmuring something and even in the dugout, he looked shocked and was seen shaking his head, expressing his frustration.

However, this wasn't limited to here only as after the game, Virat Kohli was seen confronting the umpire near the stairs of the pavilion. The official was seen explaining something to the batter but he didn't look amazed there as well.

Amid all the saga, a new video has emerged in which Virat Kohli was seen expressing his frustration yet again. During the post-match handshake ceremony, the batter refused to shake hands with the umpires and gave him just a pat on the shoulder.

Here's the video:

Virat Kohli was given out for 18 runs off just 7 balls. He batted with a strike rate of over 257 and scored 1 four and 2 sixes in his innings. His wicket was the turning point as Royal Challengers Bengaluru lost the game. They went close to the target but fell short of just 1 run to bag their 7th loss of the season.

Virat Kohli was fined 50% of his match fees for breaching the code of conduct

For his antics on the field, Virat Kohli was penalized by the Board of Control for Cricket in India. The batter was fined 50% of his Match fees. The Indian Premier League released the official statement which read:

“Kohli committed a Level 1 offence under Article 2.8 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct. He admitted to the offence and accepted the Match Referee’s sanction. For Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the Match Referee’s decision is final and binding."
